Golf Performance Assessment

Your Body Is Your
Greatest Club.

A Golf Performance Assessment is a six-part clinical and technical evaluation that maps how your body moves through the golf swing, identifies the physical restrictions causing swing faults and delivers a personalised roadmap to fix them.

Most swing faults are not purely technical. They're often driven by limitations in mobility, control or strength that no amount of range time will correct. Costa Health's assessment is built to uncover exactly what your body is doing and how it's influencing your swing.

What's Included

Six components. One session. Complete clarity.

Every element of the assessment feeds into the next, building a picture that's impossible to get from a swing lesson or a fitness test alone.

Step 1

AI Postural Analysis

Detailed assessment of static posture using advanced AI technology, identifying asymmetries, load patterns and structural imbalances before you even pick up a club.

Step 2

Clinical Range of Motion Testing

Full musculoskeletal assessment evaluating spinal mobility, hip rotation, shoulder function and key joint restrictions that directly affect swing mechanics.

Step 3

Golf-Specific Physical Testing

Targeted screening of rotational control, stability under load, power generation capacity and movement sequencing through the phases of the golf swing.

Step 4

Swing Analysis Integration

Physical findings combined with swing mechanics to understand why faults occur, where compensation patterns exist and which physical limitations are driving them.

Step 5

TrackMan Data Integration

Objective ball and club data layered into the assessment, providing measurable benchmarks for club speed, launch angle, spin rate and carry distance.

Step 6

ProMotion Performance Report

Proprietary software generating a personalised report that highlights key swing faults, explains their physical drivers and identifies priority areas for improvement.

Is This Right for You?

Who is the assessment for?

A common misconception is that golf performance assessments are only for elite players chasing Tour-level numbers. That's wrong. Physical limitations affect a 28-handicapper just as much as a scratch golfer. The difference is that higher-handicap players often have more untapped potential, because more of their swing faults are physically driven rather than technical.

Costa Health's assessment suits club golfers frustrated by a plateau they can't break through. It suits competitive players looking for marginal gains in distance or consistency. Golfers returning from injury, dealing with persistent back or shoulder pain, or simply wanting to keep playing into their 70s and 80s will all benefit.

According to TPI research, 64.3% of amateur golfers report playing with some form of pain during a round. That's not normal. It's almost always a sign that the body is compensating somewhere. Finding the root cause is faster and cheaper than years of lessons that can't fix a problem your body won't allow.

Golfers aged 18 to 80+ have been through the Costa Health assessment. There's no minimum handicap, no fitness requirement and no expectation that you already know what's wrong. That's our job.

Your Personalised Report

The ProMotion Performance Report

Every assessment concludes with a ProMotion Performance Report, generated through proprietary software that converts clinical and technical data into a clear, actionable document. This isn't a generic printout. It's built from your specific findings.

The report identifies your key swing faults, then maps each one back to its physical driver. A slice caused by early extension, for example, might trace to restricted hip internal rotation on the lead side. Knowing that changes how you train, how your coach works with you and which treatment to prioritise.

Guidance is written for both the player and the coach. PGA professionals across the Costa del Sol already use Costa Health ProMotion reports to separate physically driven faults from technical ones. That saves everyone time. Your coach stops trying to fix something your body won't allow, and you stop repeating the same errors.

Priority areas are ranked so you know exactly where to start. The report creates a clear roadmap, helping you make meaningful progress rather than guessing at what to work on next.

"Sarah not only revitalised my body but essentially gave me a new lease on my golfing career. Her meticulous work across various areas, coupled with the prescribed exercises for home, made a profound difference. I swiftly returned to playing golf at a high standard."

Common Questions

Golf Performance Assessment FAQs

How long does the Golf Performance Assessment take?
The full six-part assessment typically takes 60 to 90 minutes. Costa Health runs every component in a single session so you leave with a complete picture of your body, your swing and the connection between them. Your personalised ProMotion report you can view online so your coach, therapists can view if you are travelling here.
Do I need to bring my own clubs?
Yes. Bring the clubs you play with regularly, especially driver and a mid-iron. TrackMan data is most useful when captured with your own equipment, giving an accurate baseline of your current ball flight and club delivery numbers.
Is this assessment only for serious or low-handicap golfers?
Not at all. Physical limitations affect every golfer regardless of handicap. In fact, higher-handicap players often see the biggest gains because they tend to have more unaddressed restrictions. The assessment suits anyone aged 18 to 80+ who wants to play better or with less pain.
What if the assessment finds a clinical issue like a disc problem or joint injury?
Because both practitioners are registered clinicians (chiropractor and physiotherapist), they can assess and manage musculoskeletal issues on-site, and refer for further investigation when needed. Many golfers assessed at Costa Health also begin a short course of hands-on treatment alongside their performance programme.
How does the ProMotion report help my golf coach?
The report translates clinical findings into language coaches understand. It explains which swing faults are physically driven (meaning no amount of practice will fix them) versus those that are technical. Many PGA professionals on the Costa del Sol already work directly with Costa Health ProMotion reporting.
