English-Speaking Online Doctor on the Costa del Sol
Costa Health connects you with experienced, UK-trained GPs for video consultations in English or Spanish. Whether you're a tourist who has fallen ill, an expat looking for a trusted GP, or a resident managing an ongoing condition, Dr Melanie Lake and Dr Raquel Delgado are available within 24 hours. No Spanish insurance required. No language barrier.
More Than a Telehealth App
Costa Health is a multidisciplinary clinic with chiropractors, physiotherapists, and osteopaths in Riviera del Sol and Marbella. Your GP has direct access to this team. Back pain that doesn't need a doctor gets triaged to a musculoskeletal specialist. A condition that needs urgent in-person care gets escalated to Helicopteros Sanitarios. The doctors are independent, licensed GPs who practise within regulated medical centres in Spain.
MSK Team Behind You
Costa Health's GPs can refer directly to in-house chiropractors, physiotherapists, and osteopaths. Back pain, joint problems, and sports injuries get seen by the right specialist quickly.
Independent Licensed Doctors
Dr Lake and Dr Delgado are independent GPs registered within the Spanish healthcare system. All clinical decisions and prescriptions are theirs, made in accordance with Spanish medical regulations.
In-Person Pathway
If a video consultation isn't sufficient, the doctors can coordinate home visits, a visit to one of their clinics located across Benalmadena, Marbella or Estepona. If you need urgent home care we can coordinates through Helicopteros Sanitarios, the Costa del Sol's established 24-hour medical service with over 30 years of experience.

"Moving to Spain, one of my biggest worries was finding a GP I could trust. Dr Delgado made that easy. She is thorough, listens properly, and I never feel rushed. I felt comfortable with the continuity of having a English-trained and knowledgeable GP , but with the sunshine. It took away a lot of anxiety about navigating medical help abroad."

Frequently Asked Questions
How do online GP consultations work at Costa Health?
Book online, receive a video link, and consult from your home, hotel, or anywhere with an internet connection. Your GP will assess your symptoms, provide medical advice, and if needed, send electronic prescriptions directly to your phone or email. Most consultations are available within 24 hours.
Can I see a doctor online while on holiday in Spain?
Yes. No Spanish health insurance or residency is needed. Costa Health's collaboration with GPs helps with travel illness, medication issues, and health concerns while you're in Spain. Consultations are in English. If you have travel insurance, you'll receive documentation to support your reimbursement claim.
Can an online GP write prescriptions in Spain?
Yes. Dr Lake and Dr Delgado are licensed to issue electronic prescriptions accepted at any pharmacy in Spain. Prescriptions are sent digitally during or after your consultation. Not all medications are suitable for online prescribing, and some may require an in-person assessment.
What if I need to see a doctor in person?
Costa Health coordinates in-person care through Helicopteros Sanitarios, the Costa del Sol's established 24-hour medical service with over 30 years of experience and 200+ medical professionals. Home or hotel visits, clinic appointments, and urgent care can all be arranged if your GP determines a video consultation isn't sufficient.
Can I claim the consultation through travel insurance?
Yes. Most patients pay upfront and claim reimbursement from their provider. Costa Health provides medical invoices, clinical documentation, and any reports required for insurance claims. Some providers offer a guarantee of payment, allowing the consultation to be billed directly. There may be additional costs for reports or fit to fly reports.
Can the online GP help with menopause symptoms?
Yes. Both Dr Melanie Lake and Dr Delgado have a specialist interest in perimenopause and menopause support, including assessment, symptom management, HRT discussion where appropriate, and ongoing monitoring. Costa Health also collaborates with the Dr's to offer structured membership programmes for those that need ongoing care.
What languages do the doctors speak?
Both Dr Lake and Dr Delgado are fluent in English and Spanish. Dr Lake was born in England and did her training in England and moved to Spain in 2018. Dr Delgado was born in Spain and is Spanish but has worked in London for the last 30 years.
How much does an online GP consultation cost?
A standard 20-minute online GP consultation costs 80 euros. Extended consultations (40 minutes) and urgent out-of-hours appointments are also available. Check the booking page for current pricing and appointment times.
When should I go to A&E instead of booking online?
If you are experiencing a medical emergency such as severe chest pain, difficulty breathing, signs of stroke, serious injury, or heavy uncontrolled bleeding, call 112 immediately. An online consultation is not a substitute for emergency care.
